Edam Group has appointed Nigel Evans as group sales director and Steve Ward as business development director, following a “sustained period of growth”.

Having joined Edam in January, Evans will now oversee the business development sales team, and Ward will address the insurance market.

Evans (pictured) has a strong background in the automotive credit hire sector. He spent 10 years with Accident Exchange, later widening his experience into other market sectors with a three-year spell at CCL/Hertz Accident Support.

He said: “I’m very proud to take this role in the team, at an important time for the company as we continue to experience growth across our key business sectors.

“I’ve really enjoyed being part of the team since January, and am excited to lead the team to help the business continue to grow.”

The sales team has been further strengthened with the appointment of Ward, who will specialise in developing Edam Group’s presence in insurer markets.

Like Evans, Ward has a rounded knowledge of the industry, following time in the respective sales teams at Nexus Vehicle Rental, Auto Windscreens and Enterprise.

Edam Group has ambitious plans to double the size of its business in the next three years and the expansion of the sales team will help the company achieve that goal, it says. Significant growth is already being achieved, with the company reporting its best ever annual results earlier this year.

Marc Lafferty, chief revenue officer at Edam Group, said: “Nigel’s drive, ambition and values have already proved to be a valuable addition to the Edam group, so this appointment will help ensure that we continue achieve our growth ambitions over the coming years. I’m confident that under Nigel’s direction the team’s friendly but focused approach will help us to drive the business forward.”
