Activate Accident Repair has opened its doors in Glasgow as parent company Activate Group (AGL) continues to realise its £3m investment in creating a body shop division.

AGL, founded in 2015, specialises in accident management services and partners with some of the country’s best-known fleet providers and insurers to service hundreds of thousands of claims a year.

The company launched its body shop division in 2019 with the first of five planned centres opening in Birmingham.  This year sees the second site go live, a 22,000sq ft operation in Glasgow.

The new centre is equipped with the latest ADAS repair technology and the ability to repair plastic and aluminium on all types of vehicles including EV and hybrid. In addition, Glasgow has a fast-track repair lane for non-structural repairs to ensure jobs keep moving and key-to-key times are well managed.

Hannah Wilcox, CEO of AGL, said: “Looking ahead, AGL will continue to invest in building a market-leading body shop division that enables us to meet the needs of our clients and their customers with fast, high-quality repairs in key urban areas.”

Further centres will follow in Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool, creating more than 200 new jobs in the sector over a twelve-month period.

In addition to operating its own body shop division, AGL has a network of more than 250 approved third-party repair partners.

The new Glasgow site employs more than 25 technicians and admin staff, it can repair up to ten vehicles a day and offers a range of repair services including: fast-track, ADAS work, wheel alignment, chassis alignment and more. Its clients are predominantly corporate fleets and insurance companies that place work through Motor Repair Network or sopp+sopp.
