Fleet News has cancelled Company Car in Action 2020 – the UK’s leading arrive and drive event – due to the coronavirus pandemic.

A statement from Fleet News said: “It’s with great regret that Fleet News has announced the cancellation of Company Car in Action 2020, due to be held on June 10-11 at Millbrook.

“Fleet News has been following Government guidelines regarding the continuation of CCIA since the outbreak of Coronavirus.

“However, as the situation has worsened, we have listened to the concerns from all parties around the health and welfare of our visitors, exhibitors and staff.

“We have, therefore, taken the extremely difficult decision to cancel CCIA until 2021, when we plan to deliver a bigger and even better event.

“The dates have been secured - Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 June - and we have already started planning for what we anticipate will be our biggest and best ever fleet test driving event.”

Stephen Briers, Fleet News editor-in-chief, added: “CCIA 2021 will coincide with the year of the electric vehicle, with more models on the market and supplies no longer restricted, and we expect these cars and vans to dominate the show.

“It will be the best opportunity for fleet decision-makers to test the very latest electric cars and vans, as they look to switch large parts of their fleets across to electric over the coming years.

“We know the fleet sector will be just as disappointed as us about the cancellation of this year’s CCIA, but fleets, manufacturers and suppliers can still have those all-important business discussions at Fleet & Mobility Live, which takes place on October 6-7 at the NEC in Birmingham. Full details will be in the April issue of Fleet News.”

Chris Lester, Bauer B2B event director, added: “I am sure that you understand how disappointed we are to cancel our 2020 CCIA event.

“Cancelling the event is not a decision we have taken lightly, however the safety of our exhibitors, visitors and staff is of paramount importance.

“We know how much you rely on our events and Fleet News to connect with existing and new customers and we are 100% committed to creating another great event for you in June 2021.”
