ATS Euromaster has seen the requirement for its mobile tyre service increase over the last two years.

The company reported that it currently attends 9,000 jobs a month on average.

The tyre and maintenance provider said the pandemic, which saw a rise in home delivery, as a contributory factor for soaring fleet demand.

The change is partly cost-driven, says ATS Euromaster, as fleets double shift vans and try to minimise downtime to maximise asset usage.

Mark Holland, operations director at ATS Euromaster, said: “The expectations of the market have moved on and it’s changing at 100 miles an hour. People want the service to come to them.

“It’s part of the delivery service culture and the very vans providing the delivery service want the same service for their vans.

“At the rate we’re seeing demand increasing, we expect to be performing 25% more jobs in 2023 and 10% more in 2024.”

ATS Euromaster currently has approximately 160 vans providing the service, the majority fitted with electric (rather than diesel) compressors to help reduce operational CO2 emissions. The average tyre service takes 46 minutes upon arrival.

Last month (June), the company said it is ensuring that its network of tyre and maintenance centres is ‘electric vehicle (EV) ready’ as it stocks up on electric car tyres and has upskilled its staff to ensure technicians can work on hybrid and EVs safely.

The company said it is currently renewing its fleet with new vehicles and recruiting driver technicians.

The ATS Mobile Tyre Service is currently for van and LCV fleets only.
