Dacia has unveiled the all-new Duster ahead of its official launch next year.

The new model adopts a more rugged look, inspired by the Dacia Bigster concept.

It moves onto Renault's CMF-B platform, which underpins the Captur and Clio, as well as Dacia's Sandero and Jogger models.

The new base is said to improve refinement and interior space, while also enabling the fitment of a hybrid powertrain to the Duster for the first time.

When it goes on sale in 2024, the Duster will be offered with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder mild-hybrid petrol engine that develops 130PS. There will also be a 1.6-litre Hybrid engine with 140PS and an LPG variant.

The Duster has improved ground clearance and the option of two- or four-wheel-drive. Plastic cladding and underbody shields protect the body and powertrain from damage in both urban environments and off-road.

On the inside, the new Duster continues its rugged, heavy-duty theme. The dashboard and interior plastics are chunky and designed to be hard-wearing.

A 10-inch central touchscreen provides the key infotainment services, on all but the entry level variant, while a second display takes the place of conventional instruments in front of the driver.

Sales of the new Dacia Duster are expected to commence in the second half of 2024.
