Pod Point has signed a three-year deal with McCarthy Stone to supply and install electric vehicle (EV) home charge points at every parking space in new developments.

The contract also extends to the developer’s existing residential and workplace sites that require the retrofitting of charge points.

The partnership with Pod Point follows on from updates to building regulations mandating EV charging points in all new-build properties in England

The regulations came into force in June this year and form part of the Government's strategy to reduce emissions. All new residential developments must have one 7kW charge point for every residence with a parking space.

Anne Smales, group commercial director at McCarthy Stone, said: “We are committed to reducing energy use and carbon emissions in our existing and future estates, and across our business.

“In Pod Point, we have found a partner who in terms of its reputation and track record, we feel is well placed to support our sustainability goals and to help us deliver great and sustainable places for our customers to live.”

Erik Fairbairn, CEO of Pod Point, added: “McCarthy Stone has an outstanding reputation in the industry and its sustained five-star customer satisfaction status from the Home Builders Federation is testament to that. We were delighted to be selected as their preferred charge point supplier.”

Pod Point’s installers will carry out the consultation, delivery, installation, and activation of the home charger at each of McCarthy Stone’s new sites.
