Lynne Dennis, a transport fleet administrator at UK Power Networks, has celebrated 40 years of service with the company, and has joined a special ‘40+ Club’.

Starting her career within the organisation in 1985 as a kitchen assistant, Dennis quickly progressed into a clerical engineering position. In 1989, she moved into the transport department and took on various roles, including booking vehicle service and MOTs, vehicle tax management, and organising temporary vehicles for staff in the field.

She said: “I’m so grateful for my 40 years with the company and for the opportunities to move into different roles within the company and work with nice people.

“I received my forty-year certificate from Mr Basil (chief executive of UK Power Networks) himself. The company thanked us for our long service at a celebratory meal, which was a lovely evening, despite my initial apprehension. I feel proud of the job I’ve done and grateful for my friendships and memories.”

UK Power Networks has welcomed 15 members of staff (including Dennis) into its ‘40+ Club’ this year, where they join more than 300 colleagues in celebrating between 40 and 61 years at the company.

Chief executive Basil Scarsella said: “I look forward to this event every year as a way to spend time with our longest-serving employees, who have served UK Power Networks and its legacy companies tirelessly for decades.

“I’m delighted that so many people choose to stay with us for their whole career and it is a pleasure to hold this special celebration to recognise their commitment to keeping the lights on for the millions of customers we serve.”
