Matrix Telematics has launched its IncidentCam in cab camera.

IncidentCam captures on-the-road event footage which is all viewable remotely, and stored in the cloud.

The system will trigger an alert as soon as vehicles are involved in a collision. This enables businesses to proactively handle potential business consequences, such as insurance claims, quickly and efficiently. A First Notification of Loss (FNOL) report can also be sent in real time to any number of recipients.

IncidentCam can also capture and alert relevant parties to dangerous driving events such as harsh braking or cornering. Even if they do not end in collision, these notifications enable fleet managers to curtail such behaviours through detailed driver feedback in a bid to reduce risk and prevent accidents.

Geoff Ball, managing director of Matrix Telematics, said: “IncidentCam offers vital information for tackling a range of road incidents – providing the evidence fleet managers need to protect themselves whilst also reducing their insurance premiums.

“Crimestoppers suggest that crash for cash scams are currently worth around £400 million per year, which isn’t a figure businesses can afford to ignore. Reliable camera technology solutions allow businesses to protect themselves by providing clear evidence that can be used as part of the investigative process."

A number of Matrix clients are already using IncidentCam, having seen the quality of the video footage and ease of use. “This high-spec technology is something businesses should be integrating right across their fleets,” added Ball.

The software for IncidentCam integrates with existing Matrix products in order to provide a seamless telematics solution.
