Total Motion is to use Epyx’s 1link Hire Network to handle all its daily rental requirements.

The move is in response to Total Motion’s increasing rental volumes and will, says the Leicester-based company, greatly enhance reporting capabilities for its business and for its customers.

Matt Neale, Total Motion's operations director, said: “Epyx's 1link Hire gives us the option to provide all our customers with live reporting 24/7 on all aspects of their hire.

“The system’s ease of use will also help us to streamline the way we work and its design automatically encourages best practice.

“As our business has grown we have increased our rental volumes. This, in its very nature, requires more investment in how we manage each hire transaction and how we communicate that information to our customers.

“1link Hire Network meets our current needs and offers ongoing support for our growing business, which is vital for us as we move forward.”

Total Motion will use 1link Hire Network to book and manage all of its customers’ short term hire requirements, including the creation of a number of online portals to allow direct booking for clients.

Epyx, which specialises in IT solutions for the automotive sector, has worked with Total Motion for more than a decade.

Neale added: “Total Motion already uses Epyx’s 1link Service Network for vehicle maintenance. Utilising the platforms together will help us to identify opportunities for minimising downtime.”

Marc Lees, business development manager for Epyx’s 1link platforms, added: “We have always found Total Motion to be among the more innovative thinkers in the fleet sector and we are pleased to welcome them to Hire Network.”

He said that Epyx had seen a high degree of success for 1link Hire Network in 2017, with rental volumes up around 8% year on year. “The platform is doing well as a result of investments we have made in technology but also because of our commercial strategy,” he continued.

“We are a platform provider in the purest sense and, as an established partner to FN50 companies, we are simply about helping them deliver the best rental service to their customers.”

1link Hire Network is the market-leading rental platform in the fleet sector, adopted by more than 50 vehicle hire suppliers working with thousands of fleet operators of all sizes across the UK.

For purchasers of daily rental services such as major fleets, 1link Hire Network aims to provide fast and easy online management of daily rental, including multi-supplier quotations and subsequent booking.

For daily rental suppliers, it aims to provide access to new customers as well as fast and low-cost, electronically validated bookings alongside a range of other major process improvements.
