Thrifty Car and Van Rental has partnered with Lightfoot to offer a 10% discount on vehicle hire in the UK, with more to be announced.

The 10% Thrifty discount is “the first in a series of rewards and discounts” for drivers with elite driver status (driving score of 85% or above).

They include breakdown cover, personal car insurance, car maintenance,  high-street stores and perks like free weekly coffees – in addition to prize draws.

Each week that drivers achieve ‘elite driver’ status, they will be able to log in to the Lightfoot portal and access benefits and rewards on offer.

Lightfoot’s managing director Mark Roberts said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Thrifty to provide even greater benefits to our drivers.

“This discount on vehicle hire will help to further incentivise our drivers and contribute to our mission of rewarding smoother, safer and greener drivers.”

Thrifty’s director Alison Chadwick (pictured) said: “Lightfoot is exactly the kind of company we seek to work with. They have a great ethos and effectively reduce fuel costs, lower emissions and improve safety.

“We hope that by providing their drivers with discounts on vehicle hire, we will further encourage better drivers.”

These rewards are an additional incentive to encourage a smoother, safer driving style, which will further reduce accident rates, reduce their emissions and save Lightfoot’s customers money on wear and tear, and fuel costs.
