GWM UK has unveiled the POER300 as its new entrant into the double-cab pick-up market.

The diesel-powered model will go on sale in September, priced from £31,495 (CV OTR).

It marks a return to the pick-up segment for GWM, following the Great Wall Steed which went off-sale in 2016.

The POER300 (pronounced "Power") uses a 2.4-litre turbo diesel engine with 183PS. It has all-wheel-drive and an automatic gearbox.

Maximum towing capacity is 3,500kg, while the payload limit is 1,000kg.

The interior uses "premium" soft-touch materials and features a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 

Multiple intelligent all-terrain modes (Normal, Eco, Sport, Snow, Mud, Sand), and an electronically activated rear differential lock (standard),provide enhanced off-road capability. The GWM POER300 has an off-road approach angle of 27 degrees, departure angle of 25 degrees, and 230mm of ground clearance.

Three trim levels will be offered: Lux, Ultra and Vanta. The base specification includes 18-inch alloys, leatherette seats, keyless entry and rear parking sensors.

Ultra adds heated/ventilated seats, ambient lighting, privacy glass, sunroof, tailgate step and a 360-degree camera. Vanta gets blacked-out exterior trim, wheel arches and black alloy wheels.

The GWM POER300 will go on sale in September.
