Nissan’s new Townstar EV electric small panel van and its Nissan ARIYA premium electric crossover SUV will be on show at this year’s Fleet & Mobility Live on October 3 & 4.

More than 80% of the new Townstar van sales are for the all-electric version and Nissan is expecting the new model variant to be a hit with fleets looking to switch their van operations to zero emissions, particularly for those that operate in Clean Air Zones and the Ultra-Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) in London.

Both the L1 and L2 Townstar models will be at Fleet & Mobility Live. The L1 is actually smaller than the outgoing e-NV200 and will be well suited to SMEs, while the larger body-length L2 version is expected to be more popular with large corporate and public sector fleets.

The Townstar EV offers a zero-emission range of up to 183 miles WLTP combined (or up to 269 miles on the city cycle).

Its 45kWh battery offers both AC charging (11kW or 22kW) and 80kW DC quick charging, which charges the battery from 15% to 80% in as little as 37 minutes. Battery thermal cooling is standard with the 22kW AC and 80kW DC CCS charging from Acenta grade onward.

The van comes with Nissan’s standard five-year or 100,000-mile van warranty but extends the offering to eight years on the battery state of health up to 70%.

Nissan Ariya

The 329-mile range Ariya has also recently received some important updates with a price reduction of up to £3,750 and a new entry-level model, bringing the starting price down to £39,645.

The new pricing, combined with new trim grades, were introduced to offer a “more competitive and accessible price point” for the model, which can be rapid charged to add up to 217 miles of range in around 30 minutes.

Nissan’s fleet team will be on hand at the show to help support fleet customers and give them all the details they need on their latest electric vehicles.

Marco Capozzoli, Nissan Motor GB fleet director, said: “These are two key vehicles for us as we continue on our electrification journey.

“Townstar EV becomes the new star of our LCV range and follows on from our very successful e-NV200.  We think Townstar is going to appeal to Public Sector bodies as well as the large and small fleet operators that are operating vans in places like the Ultra-Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ) in London, as well as other Clean Air Zones across the UK.

“Being at the show is critical for us so fleets can see the Ariya. The technology, aesthetics and quality stands toe to toe with the best premium EVs in the market.

“We want to get more fleets behind the wheel and we’re already engaging with a lot of salary sacrifice schemes and leasing companies for Ariya.”
