Almost a third (30%) of Leasys European fleet of 850,000 vehicles are either battery electric vehicles (BEVs) or hybrids, new figures show.

Following the successful consolidation of Leasys and Free2Move Lease's business in April, the company says it is on target to reach its 2026 target of half of all leased vehicles being electrified.

From January to September, more than 169,000 new contracts were registered across Europe, with 16% for electrified vehicles - 9% BEVs and 7% plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs).

The vehicle leasing company said that in pursuit of accelerating its electric transition, it is continuously expanding its portfolio of zero-emission mobility solutions.

“Our flexible offerings and innovative services are designed to facilitate and incentivise electric mobility adoption,” it added.

“In our commitment to sustainable mobility, Leasys is not just changing the way we move; we're transforming the way we think about the environment and our role in protecting it.”

Sebastiano Fedrigo, the former Leasys UK managing director who was appointed to oversee the merger, became international markets director in April 2023, while ex-Free2Move managing director Matthew Boswell heads the consolidated UK business.

Speaking to Fleet News in July, Fedrigo described how the new Leasys business “combines the best of both worlds – the strengths of Free2Move and Leasys, which were quite complimentary”.
