6 Hyundai Tucson facelift 2019

Hyundai has revealed a new 48v diesel mild hybrid powertrain for the facelifted Tucson, which launches in the summer

The new engine is expected to improve fuel efficiency by up to 7%.

By mating an electric motor to the brand’s 2.0-litre diesel engine, the new powertrain develops 186PS.

The electric motor is used to boost performance but also regenerate power to charge the battery.

Hyundai will add the mild hybrid system to its 1.6-litre diesel engine in early 2019, to offer an even more frugal package.

The new Tucson features a raft of improvement over the existing car.

Externally it receives a refreshed front end with new headlamps.

Inside, the quality of the interior is improved and a new infotainment system fitted.

More details about the new Tucson, including pricing and CO2 emissions, will be available closer to its European launch.
