Renault has unveiled the new Clio, ahead of its arrival in the UK in the Autumn.

The new model sits on an all-new platform and boasts a number of technological advances, such as LED headlights and digital instruments.

It is expected to spearhead the company’s drive towards electrification, autonomy and connectivity by 2022.

The new Clio will be the first Renault to feature the brand’s new E-Tech hybrid powertrain, using a 1.6-litre petrol engine and mild-hybrid system.

It is not believed that the Clio will be offered as a fully-electric model.

There will be 1.0-litre and 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engines, alongside a diesel.

All models will be fitted with full-LED headlights and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster.

One of the highlights is a 9.3-inch infotainment display, which will be available on some versions along with a larger 10-inch instrument display.

A range of driver assistance systems will be offered, alongside a connected multimedia system.

Particular focus has been made on improving driver comfort, using better seats and an improved layout.

There are more soft touch materials to provide a premium feel.

Boot space has been increased to 391 litres, with an additional 26 litre of stowage space in the cabin.

Renault will introduce a new sportier RS Line trim level on the new Clio, replacing the previous GT Line.

Prices are yet to be confirmed, but are expected to start at around £14,000 when the car goes on sale in the Autumn.
