BMW/Mini, MG, Genesis, Kia, Polestar and Suzuki are the first manufacturers to confirm their attendance at the 2023 Fleet News Company Car In Action test driving event.

Held at its historic home of Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire, Company Car In Action (CCIA) will bring together more than 200 models for fleet decision-makers and leasing representatives to put through their paces on the hill route, high speed bowl and, where appropriate, the off-road course.

This year’s event will offer even more driving opportunities to fleets interested in the latest electric vehicles, with a surge of new models scheduled for launch and expected to make their CCIA debut.

New for 2023 is a special van feature which will offer fleet decision-makers the experience of driving the latest light commercial vehicles around a purpose-built facility that will simulate stop-start driving.

The last mile delivery route will enable them to evaluate vehicle handling and automated driving aids in a series of realistic scenarios, including bus stops, junctions, speed humps and varying speed limits.

CCIA 2023 will also include daily seminars focusing on fleet insurance and Workplace EV Charging Infrastructure.

  • Insurance: This seminar will tackle the issue of claims and damage inflation with industry experts outlining the type of actions fleets can take to mitigate the rising costs.
  • Workplace EV Charging Infrastructure: This session will offer guidance and advice to fleets looking to install workplace charging infrastructure, from the process to the timescales to future proofing advice, as they transition their vehicles to full electric.

Commenting on the event, Steve Roberts, general manager for corporate sales at BMW UK, said: “Electromobility continues to grow within the BMW Group in 2023 and Company Car in Action gives us the perfect opportunity to demonstrate our electric offering to the fleet market.

"The BMW iX1, which was on static display last year, will be our main focus for test drives throughout the event, whilst the BMW i7 will be on static display alongside a range of our all-electric vehicles.”

Relative newcomer Genesis, which debuted at last year’s Company Car In Action, will be bringing its GV60 SUV and electrified GV70 SUV as well as the electrified G80 saloon for fleet managers to test drive.

With a focus on a luxury experience and a premium product, Richard Shortridge, corporate and remarketing manager, said: "Genesis has set out to disrupt the market and provide a credible alternative."

Suzuki is another carmaker returning to the show this year. It will be showcasing its full range of hybrid products, from the award winning Ignis to the halo Across PHEV – and everything in between.

“The full Suzuki team very much look forward to meeting with you to discuss all your fleet requirements, experience our great product line-up and enjoy a coffee of your choice from our very own converted Jimny Beans,” said Lee Giddings, national fleet sales manager.

After a successful 2022, where it achieved the milestone of 100,000 sales, Kia is continuing its journey to electrification with a focus on its EV6 and Niro ranges.

“At Kia, we understand that choosing the right fleet partner is more than just a transactional decision - that's why our Business Service Promise is designed to offer added value,” says the company.

“Our promise guarantees exceptional service, support, and maintenance, making us a reliable and trustworthy long-term partner for our fleet customers.”

MG Motor UK will be showcasing its latest models, including the MG4 EV, which has already won several fleet awards, and the recently facelifted MG5 EV SW. In addition, it will have the HS Plug in Hybrid, a car that is proving to be a winner for fleet customers.

Geraint Isaac, head of fleet sales, MG Motor UK, said: “The whole MG fleet team will be in attendance to ensure all your questions are answered with regard to our fleet offering, so please come along and visit our stand.”

The Polestar 2 in single motor and dual motor variants will be the feature car for Polestar at this year’s CCIA.

Recent updates mean faster charging, and increased range, all of which make the transition to pure EV easier.

The Polestar sales team will be available to greet guests and provide answers to any fleet-based questions.

Matt Hawkins, head of sales, Polestar UK, said: “Company Car in Action is always a great day to meet and greet guests from the fleet sector.

"We understand that there are a lot of factors to consider when switching to all-electric, so we’ll be on site to introduce attendees to our award-winning Polestar 2, offer test drives and ensure clarity on all the benefits of driving a Polestar.”
