Software firm FleetCheck is launching its new automated fleet policy writer at the CV Show 2017.

The software, called Policy Manager, is designed to guide companies of all sizes, but especially SMEs, through creating a legally compliant and operationally effective framework for their fleets.

Peter Golding, managing director at FleetCheck, said: “In today’s culture of heightened legal awareness, many companies are concerned about their degree of compliance and what would happen if they were faced with an investigation following a road accident.

“Policy Manager is designed to allay these fears by giving companies straightforward tools, processes and guidance that will create a complete fleet health and safety infrastructure.

“The software provides a pathway that guides fleet managers through the fundamentals of creating a highly compliant written fleet policy, whether you already have some elements in place or are starting from scratch.”

Policy Manager will be provided as a new, free to use portal for users of FleetCheck’s fleet management software, who already total more than 500 customers and 50,000 vehicles.

Within the portal, users can access a library of document templates, produced in association with a leading firm of lawyers specialising in occupational road safety and health and safety compliance. These include a driving policy and a driver handbook, which are fully editable.

Companies can personalise these documents, add information specific to their own fleet, and then circulate the final versions to all relevant parties.  Driver acceptance is recorded, document versions are stored and organised, and alerts are generated for document review, ensuring that written policies remain current and are always easily accessible.

The whole process is fully auditable and there is also access to expert help and advice in order to cover any subjects that are not included in the software.

Golding continued: “This product has been in development for some time because we wanted to ensure that we made it as watertight and easy-to-use as possible. We believe that it is an industry first and meets a genuine need among a large number of fleets.

“We are especially pleased to be launching Policy Manager at CV Show 2017, where there is always a high level of interest among visitors in ensuring fleet compliance and efficiency."
