Five of TruckEast's final year technical apprentices have graduated from Scania’s national training centre.

Managing director, John Biggin said: “Our apprentices very much represent the future of our business and on behalf of TruckEast; I would like to wish them all every success in their careers with us.”

Across a three year programme, Scania apprentices receive ongoing training and support from both the dealer and the in-house team at its UK Training Centre.

The facility features an extensive, fully fitted workshop and state of the art training rooms. Between their training blocks each TruckEast apprentice has full-time on the job learning where they are continuously mentored and assessed at their respective branch.

“Scania is the best brand out there so when it came to choosing an apprenticeship it was an easy decision”, said Alistair Brown, Wellingborough final year apprentice.

“Having always had an interest in engines I knew I wanted to be in the industry and TruckEast has provided me with that opportunity. For those looking at future options I would strongly recommend apprenticeships as they set you up with a career for life,” continues Alistair.

The Scania Apprenticeship sees graduates secure two industry-recognised qualifications; The Institute of Motor Industry Technical Certificate Level 2/3 and a National Vocational Qualification for Maintenance & Repair & Heavy Vehicle, Level 2/3.

TruckEast will be taking on a further 11 technical apprentices onto the Scania apprenticeship scheme in 2017.
