VisionTrack has announced the appointment of Sean Jones as hardware manager, with the aim of 'improving' and 'adapting' the company’s firmware.

Jones (pictured) brings 20 years of experience within telematics, as well as knowledge of loT and machine to machine learning.

Through previous roles, he has experience in integrating hardware devices into customer applications, solving communication issues and improving product features with international teams.

Jones said: “We use technology from all over the world and my focus will be on improving functionality and development, working directly with the hardware manufacturers so that we can improve and adapt our bespoke firmware, creating world leading solutions.

"We pride ourselves on attention to detail and are continually evolving our offering thanks to extensive testing.”

VisionTrack recently gained recognition for ground-breaking innovation in technology at the Fleet News Awards.

VisionTrack’s managing director Simon Marsh said: “Sean’s skills are critical to our device agnostic approach, effectively meaning our system isn’t tied to one device.

“He can work with our own in-house platform developers across all areas of our business, supporting customer requirements and has exceptional understanding of demand and how to meet it, making sure we stay ahead of our competition.”

Jones said: "It’s great to be part of VisionTrack, it’s a fast-paced environment where we’re continually testing, modifying and implementing new functionality. I’m excited about defining my role in a rapidly growing company.”
