Parkers has named the Tesla Model Y as its Company Car of the Year in its New Car Awards 2024.

The all-electric SUV was praised for its combination of efficiency, dynamics and long-range coupled with access to the Supercharger network and attractive taxation for company car drivers.

It finishes ahead of the BMW i4 and the MG4 EV in this year's awards.

Parkers partnered Fleet News to establish a winner for the Best Company Car award in the Parkers New Car Awards 2024. The winner has been revealed as one of a total of 18 award-winning vehicles announced by Parkers.

Matt dePrez, Fleet News’ senior staff writer said: "With a choice of three powertrains, there’s a Model Y to suit a variety of needs and budgets. The mid-spec Long Range makes the most sense for company car drivers. It can cover up to 331 miles between charges and the battery can be recharged to 80% capacity in less than half an hour, at one of Tesla’s Superchargers, or a public rapid charging site."

Keith Adams, Parkers.co.uk editor, added: "Short lead times, impressive real-world range and rock-bottom tax bills make the Tesla Model Y a highly desirable company car and a worthy winner of this year’s award. No wonder the Model Y has consistently been the UK’s best-selling company car."

Now in its seventh year, the Parkers New Car Awards 2024 reflects the constantly-evolving views of Britain's car-buying public, with winners decided by a combination of the site's expert reviewers' verdicts in thousands of miles of road testing and the purchasing habits of the website's 2.3 million users actively involved in the buying process.
