Toyota has unveiled its 2024 Proace and Proace City vans, kicking off a programme of new models and electrification that will also deliver Proace Max, Toyota’s first large commercial van.

Both vans feature the new Proace family frontal design as well as a number of other revisions.

Proace

The roll-out of the 2024 model range begins with the diesel Proace medium-duty van. Customers have a choice of formats: a van in medium or long body lengths, a crew cab and a platform cab, serving as the basis for bespoke and specialist body types.

Engine options are a 1.5-litre producing 118PS and a 2.0-litre engine producing 142PS (both using a six-speed manual transmission. Sport models offer 174PS and an eight-gear automatic gearbox.

Proace has a maximum load volume of 6.6cu m, up to a 1,400kg payload and a 2,500kg towing capacity.

Entry point to the range is Active grade. Standard equipment includes a 10-inch multimedia touchscreen, digital driver’s instrument display, automatic headlights and windscreen wipers, rear parking sensors and plylining in the loadspace.

Icon specification adds a Smart Cargo loadspace extension system, satellite navigation, wireless phone charger and 16-inch wheels with full wheel caps.

Icon Premium adds automatic air conditioning and 17-inch allow wheels, while Sport includes 17-inch new black alloy wheels, black door handles, body-coloured bumpers, as well as keyless entry and LED front fog lights.

Prices for the 2024 Proace range start at £29,921 and rise to £38,721. It is available to order now with customer delivers expected from April/May.

 

Proace City

Proace City also has the new Proace family frontal design and is available with a choice of two engines.

The core powertrain is a 1.5-litre diesel, producing 101PS, with a six-speed transmission, while Sport models use a 129PS version of the same engine with either six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission.

Two versions are available – medium or long body lengths – with respective load volumes of 3.8cu m and 4.4cu m and a one-tonne payload. It can also tow braked loads up to 1,200kg.

For 2024, all Proace City models are fitted with Toyota’s Smart Cargo system, which uses a folding outer passenger seat and a hatch in the bulkhead to extend load length by 1.3m so longer items can be carried. The passenger seatback can also be folded to form a desktop.

Entry-level Active trim is available exclusively in the medium body length and comes with a 10-inch multimedia touchscreen and digital driver’s instrument cluster.

Safety and assistance features include automatic emergency braking with forward collision warning, lake keep assist, road sign assist, automatic high beam and driver attention monitoring.

An electric parking brake and rear parking sensors are also standard, as is plylining in the cargo area.

Icon models (medium and long body lengths) are fitted with a navigation system, front fog lights ,16-inch wheels with full covers, rain sensing windscreen wipers, power-folding mirrors with piano black casings, one-touch power windows, front parking sensors and a rear camera.

Sport versions add a number of extra styling details, including body-coloured door handles, bumpers, side mouldings and sliding door rail, as well as 16-inch alloy wheels.

Prices for the 2024 Proace City range start at £23,496 and rise to £27,217.Order books are open now, with first vans scheduled for delivery from April/May.
