The first female RAF fast jet pilot will be one of two inspirational speakers at Fleet News’s first Empowering Women in Fleet regional meeting next week.
Dr Jo Salter MBE will share her awe-inspiring achievement to a group of female fleet managers, procurement specialists and HR professionals who will meet for the first time next Friday (27 June) as part of the initiative.
Ann-Marie Dunbar, director - global fleet program at Gilead Sciences, will also speak at the event, taking place at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire.
It starts at 10.45am and finishes with a lunch at 1.30pm.
This new initiative, which aims to promote inspiring role models and empower more women to reach their full potential, will bring together decision-makers and leaders from both the public and private sectors.
Members will include fleet managers, procurement specialists, HR professionals, and finance heads. It has been launched in partnership with Volvo Car UK and Novuna Vehicle Solutions.

An advisory board of leading female fleet professionals is guiding the development and direction of the initiative.

Jo is famed for becoming the first female fast jet pilot. Joining the RAF aged 18, Jo has since taken air cadets into the skies as part of air experience flights, become the director of global transformative leadership for PWC, and most recently become a global advisory of GenAI for PwC.
Ann-Marie Dunbar, director - global fleet program at Gilead Sciences:
Ann-Marie sent more than 15 years at Vodafone UK in progressively larger roles and became accountable for its corporate fleet (cars and LCV/engineering fleet). Ann-Marie then moved to Gilead Sciences in 2018 to manage fleet operations for Australia, Europe, and Canada. In April, she transitioned to a global fleet procurement role within Gilead.
