The Volkswagen Group continues to hold pole position in fleet business on the five largest EU markets of Germany, France, UK, Spain and Italy.

According to Dataforce, fleet registrations of vehicles produced by the Wolfsburg-based group with its passenger car brands Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT and Škoda from January to September 2010 totalled 408,419 units (2009: 371,691 units).

This figure corresponds to an increase of 9.9 percent. The market share thus rose to 26 percent (2009: 25.3 percent).

The Volkswagen Group scored a triple success in terms of models: In the first nine months of 2010, the Volkswagen Golf was once again the most popular model for fleet customers, with the Volkswagen Passat and the Audi A4 coming second and third.

“The Volkswagen Group has further extended its market leadership in Europe. Apart from the innovative product range, this success is attributable to professional market coverage by the Group, the brands and the importers in these countries,” commented Martin Jahn, head Volkswagen Group Fleet International.
