Audi UK has confirmed the appointment of Nick Ratcliffe as its new head of marketing, replacing Dominic Chambers.

Ratcliffe took up his new position at the beginning of April, and reports directly to Director of Audi UK Martin Sander.

Based at the brand’s Milton Keynes headquarters, he has a broad remit that encompasses marketing communications and digital, social, events and customer relationship management (CRM) activities at both national and dealer level, along with product management and pricing.

He joins Audi UK following a six-year term at British Telecom, most recently in the role of marketing director for BT Business.

Prior to joining BT, he gained significant experience in the automotive industry in a variety of marketing communications, product management and operations positions, which included key roles at BMW GB, Citroen UK and Mercedes-Benz UK.

“I am relishing the opportunity to further develop the Audi UK brand strategy at every level,” said Ratcliffe.

“The business and its agency partners have built a legacy of exceptional campaigns across all our platforms, but I firmly believe that much of our light is still hidden under a bushel.

“We build beautiful, exciting cars that literally bristle with innovation, and I want to make much more of the brand’s potential for engagement. I want to convey more of the untapped excitement and emotion behind Vorsprung durch Technik.”

Director of Audi UK Martin Sander added: “I am delighted to welcome Nick into this key role at a time when the Audi brand has never been more buoyant.

“We are so close to achieving our objective of becoming the leading premium car brand in the UK, and we are consolidating our strong position with inspiring, brand-defining and progressive communications. “

Audi UK delivered almost 124,000 new cars last year, and is currently the lead brand in the premium sector sales rankings with just under 41,000 deliveries so far this year and a market share of 6.4 per cent.
