BCA Newcastle has reported record levels of trading in the first weeks of January, with 600 used cars sold in one week.

BCA has cited high levels of demand from buyers alongside the launch of a new sale programme, the Wednesday sale, as potential reasons for the success.

The new Wednesday sale launched early in January has apparently proved an instant hit with buyers. It says the sales are attracting record numbers of live online buyers as well as interest from local dealers, main agents and supermarkets and volume buyers from further afield.

The new event builds on the existing auction calendar of regular Tuesday and Friday sales.

BCA Scotland and North East’s sales director Eddie Thomson said: “A record start to the Year at our Newcastle centre is a testament to a healthy market and the tireless work of the team to maximise the opportunities for our customers.”

“The new Wednesday sale has created more capacity to meet the demands of our customers, and we are seeing a lot of new buyers.

"Our customers can buy on-site or on-line three days a week from BCA Newcastle and benefit from all the specialist services and support that BCA offers.”
