Fleet decision-makers have until 1pm today (Tuesday, June 13) to register for Company Car In Action, the Fleet News test driving event which will be held on Wednesday and Thursday (June 14-15) at Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire.

While walk-ups to the show are accepted, they will need to register on-site and get their licence checked and verified. The process is much smoother and quicker if you register in advance.

This year’s CCIA offers an unprecedented opportunity for fleets to test a vast array of the latest electric and hybrid cars and vans from 35 brands – the most ever at the show.

From Chinese newcomer BYD to fleet establishment such as Ford and Vauxhall, via premium brands Audi and BMW, plus the return after a long absence of Volkswagen and the first-time appearance of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and Maxus, there really is something for everyone.

More than 200 models will be available to test, many for the first time, across Millbrook’s four courses: the hill route, high speed bowl, the last mile delivery route and, where appropriate, the off-road course.

The Last Mile Delivery Route has been set up for vans and will enable fleets to evaluate vehicle handling and automated driving aids in a series of realistic scenarios, including bus stops, junctions, speed humps and varying speed limits.

There will also be static displays of the electric Ford Explorer, the new electric Genesis GV60, Hyundai pre-production Kona electric, an exclusive preview of the the 2024 model-year Polestar 2, as well as a host of models being brought to CCIA for the first time, such as the Volkswagen ID family, MG5 EV, Kia Niro BEV/PHEV, Ford E-Transit and BMW i7.

CCIA 2023 will also include daily seminars focusing on fleet insurance and workplace EV charging infrastructure:

• Addressing the rising cost of insurance: This seminar will tackle the issue of claims and damage inflation with industry experts outlining the type of actions fleets can take to mitigate the rising costs.
• Workplace EV charging infrastructure: This session will offer guidance and advice to fleets looking to install workplace charging infrastructure, from the process to the timescales to future proofing advice, as they transition to full electric.
