MG4 EVMG will debut its all new MG4 electric hatchback and its facelifted MG5 in front of a fleet audience for the first time at Fleet & Mobility Live on October 11 and 12.

The biggest exhibition show in the fleet calendar is back at the NEC, near Birmingham and will feature a packed line-up of informative seminar sessions and the latest products from exhibitors in Hall 20.

Registration for Fleet & Mobility Live is open now and free for fleet decision makers.

Initially available with battery capacities from 51kWh to 64kWh, the MG4 EV Standard Range will be capable of 218 miles range on the WLTP cycle – with Long Range SE and Trophy Models capable of 281 miles and 270 miles respectively.

The 64kWh battery is also capable of charging up to 135kW, meaning a charge time of only 35 minutes from 10% - 80% using a 150kW DC rapid charger.

The Modular Scalable Platform (MSP) integrates batteries into the chassis and can be scaled to suit different applications.

MG says the architecture allows integration with future technologies including battery swap systems.

Fleet & Mobility Live is timed well for the MG4’s launch, which is due to reach showrooms in September this year.

Pricing for the SE Standard Range is priced from £25,995, the SE Long Range from £28,495 and the Trophy Long Range from £31,495.

The MG4 launch is a pivotal moment for MG, following the sales success of its existing range of pure electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, with the brand growing by 83% in the first five months of 2022 in a market which has contracted by 8.7% during the same period.

The new MG5 will also be at the show and features significant styling updates, with a redesigned front and rear, enhanced LED headlights as standard, new 16’’ (SE) and 17’’ (Trophy) wheel designs and two new exterior colours.

Geraint Isaac, MG head of fleet sales, said: “While we’ve experienced significant growth in fleet over the last three years, we are still a relatively new manufacturer.

“We have a strong brand awareness, but our product offering is still not widely known. It is vitally important that we showcase our most suitable products in an environment that all potential fleet customers can experience.

“My team and I will be present at the show to answer questions and meet with attendees - that’s how important we feel this event is.”

Issac said the current MG5 EV has already been very successful in the fleet market.

He is confident the new exterior and interior refresh will bring further fleet sales.

Isaac said: “The MG4 allows us to offer products in sectors that we perhaps have not been able to explore to date, so this car is key to our continued growth in the fleet arena.”

He said MG’s fleet volumes have grown in a “sustainable manner by controlling the fleet channel mix and engaging with all sectors of the market.”

Isaac now has a team of three experienced fleet managers as part of the MG fleet team, with specialists in both public sector and leasing work.

He added: “We have also worked very closely with industry valuation experts over the last couple of years, sharing open and honest insight into our future plans.

“They like what they are seeing, so hopefully this will reflect in further improvement in our residual value (RV) positioning.”
