Suzuki has uprated the on-board charger fitted to its Across plug-in hybrid SUV.

The new 6kW AC charger allows the SUV to complete a charge in as little as 2 hours and 45 minutes, when using a suitable chargepoint (7.2kW).

When using a slower chargepoint (3.6kW), the Across can charge in a little under five hours.

The Across is fitted with an 18.1kWh battery, giving a zero-emission range of 46 miles.

Further enhancements to the model include new LED units for the front fog lamps, rear cabin light and luggage compartment lights.

For added convenience, illumination has been added to the overhead console switches and the mirror adjustment control. The onboard USB ports have been upgraded from type A to type C to ensure compatibility with a wider range of mobile devices.

The Across is built under a new collaborative agreement between Suzuki and Toyota. It’s based on the Fleet News Award-winning RAV4.

The powertrain uses a 2.5-litre petrol engine and two electric motors, to provide CO2 emissions of 22g/km. The car sits in the 8% benefit-in-kind tax band.

It’s Suzuki’s most powerful, most efficient and most expensive vehicle to date.

We're currently testing the Suzuki Across for six months, as part of our long-term test fleet. Click here to read more.
