4 Honda CR-V (2023)

Honda’s new hybrid (e:HEV) and plug-in hybrid (e:PHEV) - which offers an electric-only range of up to 50 miles - CR-V SUV range will start from £45,895 on the road.

Both variants use a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, with the PHEV version, which will sit in the 8% benefit-in-kind tax band, using a 17.7kWh battery.

The e:PHEV’s battery will take around two-and-a-half hours to fully charge from empty from a 7kW charge point, and around 7.7 hours from a 2.3kW domestic wall socket.

Both powertrains produce a maximum power of 184PS and 0-62mph times of 9.4 seconds.

E:PHEV offers CO2 emissions of 18g/km, while the e:HEV produces 110g/km and has a combined fuel efficiency of 42.8mpg.

The latest CR-V is wider, longer and taller than the outgoing model, with its 40mm longer wheelbase helping to create  more interior space, including 16mm more rear legroom and 18% increase in luggage capacity.

It will also be Honda’s first European model with Sensing360, a safety and driver assist system which removes blind spots around the vehicle.

Rebecca Adamson, head of automobile at Honda UK, said: “The CR-V is an integral part of Honda’s heritage, and the latest iteration further builds on its excellent reputation.

“For the first time, this SUV is also available in either a full hybrid or a plugin hybrid powertrain, catering to a wider range of customer lifestyles and requirements.”
