ARI Fleet UK, part of Holman Group, has appointed Jo Ewen as new director of its Complete brand.

Ewen has 32 years’ experience in the automotive industry that she will bring to the running of the Complete brand – a division created in May 2021 to deliver fleet management for businesses running vehicles that do not have legislative and regulatory requirements, but still require fleet management, data insights and SMR provision.

She joins ARI from Alphabet, where she was general manager of direct sales.

Prior to the role, she held several executive positions at LeasePlan and TR Fleet, as well as running her own fleet consultancy. She gained further experience with roles at FMG, Europcar and RAC Motoring Services.

Ian Smith named new operations director at Engineius

Engineius has appointed Ian Smith as its new operations director.

The role will involve overall responsibility for service delivery, supplier engagement and strategic objectives.

He joins the business directly from motor finance company, Oodle, where he worked for more than two years as commercial director.

Calum Slowther, managing director at Engineius, said: “Ian has vast experience in the automotive industry and a great track record, and he will be a valuable asset to Engineius as we enter our growth phase.

“Ian brings great experience in the vehicle movement sector after setting up his own movement business in Motor Delivery, gaining contracts with the likes of Pendragon and GEFCO.

“He was a key figure in Oodle’s growth over the last two years, making him the perfect person to lead Engineius operational procedures, going forward.”

The appointment follows less than a month after Andrew Wyatt as its finance director.

Concept Vehicle Leasing appoints new commercial director

Concept Vehicle Leasing has appointed Gary Dawes as its new commercial director.

As commercial director, Dawes will have oversight of sales and commercial functions at Concept, including planned growth through appointed representatives in 2022.

Dawes, who joined the Surrey based fleet and leasing broker in February 2021 as head of strategic partnerships, has a background in business growth, development, and professional coaching.

Dawes will report to chief executive officer at Concept, Paul Bulloch, who said: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with Gary throughout the past year, to expand our proposition with the launch of our new partner channel.

“Gary is a natural leader who brings commercial experience in developing relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and clients alike.

“I’ve no doubt that Gary’s appointment to Commercial Director, will really support our overall plan for expansion and growth in 2022 and beyond, and I’m thrilled to have him on board as part of our journey.”

Targa Telematics appoints Thomas Smith as UK country manager

Targa Telematics has appointed Thomas Smith as its country manager for the UK market.

In his new role, Smith assumes overall responsibility for all commercial and operational aspects of the UK business, including the delivery of technology solutions for B2C and B2B automotive customers in the UK market, and developing new business through Targa Telematics’ suite of services.

Having worked in the technology industry for more than 15 years, Smith brings experience in key management, delivery and technical roles across automotive telematics, insurance, and banking sectors, the company said.

Smith joined Targa Telematics in 2019 as UK delivery manager, having held the position of head of IT and project delivery at Tracker Network UK.

VisionTrack expands computer vision development team

Babak Rezaeirowshan and Arif Elahi have joined VisionTrack as computer vision engineers to help strengthen VisionTrack’s in-house expertise across fields of artificial intelligence (AI).

VisionTrack said it is expanding its computer vision development team to deliver next-generation AI video analysis that provides faster first notice of loss (FNOL), improved understanding of driver behaviour and greater insight into fleet risk.

Rezaeirowshan is a computer vision and machine learning research and development engineer with more than five years of experience in real-time algorithms for 3D reconstruction, object detection and tracking.

Most recently he was a C++ algorithm engineer at Continental where he developed optimised real-time computer vision algorithms for advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) solutions.

Elahi joins VisionTrack from Mark Roberts Motion Control (MRMC) where he was a computer vision engineer within the company’s R&D department, responsible for designing robotic camera systems.
