Teletrac Navman has secured a new deal with fresh food wholesaler Mr Fruity in order to optimise its six-day a week delivery service.

The Norfolk-based fruit and vegetable business, which distributes its fresh, quality produce to catering companies across East Anglia, has deployed a range of tools through Teletrac Navman’s connected fleet management platform, Director.

The deal, says Teletrac Navman, will see the business benefit from vehicle tracking, which provides a comprehensive and dynamic overview of the location and performance of Mr Fruity’s entire fleet.

The Director platform also enables Mr Fruity to monitor driver behaviour, providing data on harsh braking, fast acceleration and cornering, so safer driving practises can be implemented to reduce risks when out on the roads.

Furthermore, the business will benefit from Teletrac Navman’s maintenance performance software, which alerts managers of pending maintenance services or MOTs, to ensure vehicles are always compliant and roadworthy.

Peter Millichap, UK marketing director at Teletrac Navman, said: “Fast and efficient distribution is absolutely essential when operating in the fresh food industry, so Director was a natural fit for Mr Fruity. The business now has full visibility of its fleet performance and mobile resource activity, so it can successfully accommodate the evolving needs of its customers.”

Andy Knights, department general manager at Mr Fruity, added: “We respond to our customers’ exact requirements with a same day delivery service operating from Monday to Saturday, so working as efficiently and productively as possible is key to the success of our business. This is why Teletrac Navman’s solutions appealed to us, as the software gave us the tools we need to ensure maximum customer satisfaction through the freshness of our products and the smooth-running of our services.”
