Peugeot has confirmed the range and payload details of the new e-Expert electric van, which goes on sale later this year.

The e-Expert is offered in two different ranges, three body lengths, up to 1000kg towing capacity and payloads of up to 1275kg. 

Peugeot says nearly 80% of commercial vehicle drivers travel, on average, less than 124miles per day, making the e-Expert’s range of 143 miles (with 50kWh battery) suitable for most users.

There is also a version with a 205-mile range, which makes use of a 75kWh battery.

Based on the brand’s EMP2 (Efficient Modular Platform) multi-energy modular platform, the Peugeot e-Expert offers a 100% electric motor with a maximum power of 135PS and a maximum torque of 260Nm. 

Compact and Standard length vehicles are available with the 50 kWh battery, while Standard and Long can also be equipped with a 75 kWh battery.

Two types of on-board chargers are available, to suit all uses and all customer charging solutions, with a 7.4 kW single-phase charger as standard and an optional 11 kW three-phase charger.

Using the fastest charger, the battery can charge from 0-80% in 30 minutes.

The all-new van is available in the same versions as those with internal combustion engines, with the same towing capacity of up to 1000kg, but has a specially calibrated power steering system, with a turning circle diameter of 11.3m (Compact version between kerbs) and a height limit of 1.9m (depending on the version) which guarantees access to most car parks.

The Compact version (4.6m length) provides a 5.1 cubic metre load space. The Standard version is 4.95m long , while the Long version is 5.3m long and provides up to 6.6 cubic metres of load space.

The payload volumes are up to 1275Kg across the range.

The all-new Peugeot e-Expert will go on sale in Europe in the second half of 2020, with production taking place in France, near Valenciennes.
