Green Motion has announced the opening of a new Newcastle branch on June 11, just ten minutes from Newcastle Airport.

The move which marks the 20th UK site, also completes the eco-rental company’s positioning at all fourteen of the UK’s busiest airports.

There are now over 400 Green Motion branches worldwide but the UK home to the most of any country.

Green Motion’s franchisee development manager Will Wynter said: “We are very excited and proud to reach the launch of our 20th UK branch.

“The milestone shows how far our brand has come and how attitudes towards road emissions have changed.

“Our customers are passionate about reducing emissions and it’s fitting that the new branch will be launched in the North East, a region where we aren’t currently based.

"Newcastle, in particular, is an area that is championing best practice in road emissions, so it’s a natural fit for us.”

Last year, the company became the “first carbon neutral rental firm” by offsetting their total carbon emissions.

For every car hire, Green Motion donates £1.25 to deforestation projects in the Amazon Rainforest.

“Commitment to improving pollution levels runs through our core and by having branches in more locations we’re able to reach likeminded people,” adds Wynter.
