Software provider Magenta has issued the latest release of its cloud based distribution planning solution Maxoptra, which aims to increase productivity and bring further cost savings.

Supplementing the integral real time track and trace dashboard (which enables users to see in real time the adherence of vehicles to routes), is a new suite of management reports.

The reports enable users to analyse driver performance against planned schedule and service level adherence for each customer.

Additional functionality includes a full screen map workspace, with full drag and drop capability, for transport companies who prefer manual allocation of loads to vehicles.

This brings the benefits of a planning and scheduling solution to customers who have previously not been able to use a scheduling solution because of the inability to estimate consignment capacities.

Stuart Brunger, head of business development at Magenta, said: “Both planning systems and telematics solutions are widely adopted and their benefits are universally acknowledged.

"However, in terms of continuous improvement, the extra value fleet operators need to drive additional productivity, cost savings and improved customer service is to be found by automatically comparing scheduled plans with what the driver actually did on the day and the learning and improvements which comes from this.

"This latest release enables our customers to access this information quickly and easily.”
