Masternaut has signed a new partnership with Sygic to combine telematics and navigation technology into one fleet management solution.

Sygic currently provides professional navigation software for fleets, offering constant up-to-date map coverage without the need for an internet connection.

Alex Rothwell, chief technology officer at Masternaut, said: "Our mission is to provide all companies with quality telematics solutions, enabling them to better manage their activities by monitoring vehicles and their general condition, as well improving driver safety.

With Sygic integrated within Masternaut’s telematics solution, the system will be capable of creating pre-planned routes with turn-by-turn offline voice guided navigation. This allows fleets to digitise and preload maps and routes, making it easier to share with all drivers, and send them over the air to vehicles.

Rothwell added: “Our partnership with Sygic enables our customers to benefit from offline route management which doesn’t require an internet or GPS connection, helping them to link together pre-route planning with fleet management and telematics.”
