Jaguar has fitted a new battery to the F-Pace P400e plug-in hybrid, increasing its zero-emission range to 40 miles.

Capcity has been boosted to 19.2kWh. The update means the SUV now sits in the 8% benefit-in-kind (BIK) tax band, making it cheaper for company car drivers.

It also reduces the car's CO2 emissions and fuel consumption, which are now from 37g/km and up to 176.6mpg.

The P400e powertrain’s combined output of 404PS and 640Nm torque provides acceleration from 0-60mph in 5.0 seconds.

Drivers can make use of 50kW public rapid chargers, which can recharge the battery in around half an hour.

Jaguar has updated and streamlined the F-Pace model line-up. Prices now start at £48,600 for the 2.0-litre 204PS diesel, in R-Dynamic S trim. The F-Pace is also offered with a 300PS diesel engine and two petrol options, with outputs of 250PS and 400PS.

The plug-in hybrid is priced from £60,985 and can specified in R-Dynamic S, R-Dynamic SE or R-Dynamic HSE trims.

A new TFT Digital Driver Display, offering a two-dial configuration with a choice of media or navigation in the centre panel, is fitted to R-Dynamic S and above, while Wireless Device Charging is fitted as standard to all models.

The revised F-Pace is available to order now.
