8 Renault Arkana

Renault has updated its Arkana Coupe SUV with a refreshed look and revised model line-up.

Prices for the revised model start at £26,995.

The styling changes include the integration of Renault's new logo in the grille and new black trims to replace the chrome pieces on the outgoing model.

In line with other recently-launched Renaults, the new Arkana's line-up has been slimmed down to three trims: Evolution, Techno and Esprit Alpine.

Evolution includes satnav as standard in the Renault EASY LINK infotainment system, which also connects wirelessly with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The system retains a seven-inch touchscreen but now displays information across a larger area.

It also comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, electrically adjustable and folding heated door mirrors, tinted rear windows, automatic climate control and hands-free keycard.

The Techno grade (£28,995) has a sportier look, with bodystyling and 18-inch wheels to match the outgoing RS Line and E-Tech Engineered versions. Features include blind spot warning, front and rear parking sensors, rear cross traffic alert, and electronic parking brake with auto-hold function. The interior gains an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, 10-inch driver information display and a 9.3-inch portrait infotainment screen.

A range-topping Esprit Alpine variant (£31,295) joins the line-up with new 19-inch wheels, imitation suede upholstery, heated power adjustable front seats with lumbar adjustment on the driver’s side, a heated steering wheel and a frameless auto-dimming rear-view mirror.

The Arkana will continue to use a 1.6-litre E-Tech Hybrid powertrain. It interlinks two electric motors with a four-cylinder 1.6 litre petrol engine, a smart multi-mode clutch-less dog box and a 1.2 kWh battery. CO2 emissions from 105g/km place the car in the 26% benefit-in-kind tax band. The range-topping Esprit Alpine sits in the 27% band.

To improve handling and manoeuvrability, the new Arkana will be equipped with rear-wheel steering.

The Arkana will be sold alongside the new Renault Austral SUV and soon-to-launch Rafale.
