Green Motion has opened a new branch in Liverpool as part of a strategy to expand into city centres after establishing sites at all 14 of the UK’s busiest airports.

The latest Liverpool opening within the city’s Baltic Triangle adds to the already established branch at John Lennon Airport.

“Now we are found at all major UK airports, we plan to make our offerings more accessible in city centres and that has started with Liverpool,” explained Will Wynter, Green Motion’s franchisee development manager.

“Our airport locations are proving extremely popular for tourists and business travellers, so we’re delighted to be extending our offering to other users and making our branches easily accessible for everyday use such as a weekend road trip.”

This year has marked one of the busiest periods of expansion in the company’s 11-year history with the opening of three new UK branches.

Alongside Liverpool Downtown, Green Motion expanded into Newcastle in June and has confirmed at least one more opening in an as yet undisclosed location before the year end.

There are now over 400 Green Motion branches worldwide, but the UK is home to the most of any country with 21 separate branches. Liverpool joins London, Edinburgh, Leicester and Wolverhampton as the latest non-airport location.

Launched in 2007, Green Motion was the first environmentally friendly rental option for road users. Consumers’ changing attitudes to low-emission vehicles as well as investment in the latest technologies have played a part in accelerating the company’s growth in the UK and beyond.

Green Motion’s Liverpool Downtown branch will be open 8am till 6pm Monday to Friday, 8am till 4pm Saturdays and closed on Sundays.
