Orders can now be placed for Volkswagen’s revised Tiguan SUV range which is available with six engine and gearbox options as well as a revised trim level.

As announced in July, the range will be available with a plug-in hybrid powertrain offering an electric-only range of around 30 miles, but Volkswagen this week said more details on the eHybrid will follow in “due course”.

The refreshed line-up now available features revised styling, new technology, such as LED matrix headlights, and greater connectivity through its MIB3 infotainment system.

New diesel engines bring twin-dosing technology with dual-injected AdBlue to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions, while the 1.5-litre petrol engines feature cylinder deactivation technology to increase fuel efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions by allowing the car to run on only two cylinders under certain loads.

The Tiguan range is available in the UK in four specifications: entry-level Tiguan trim, Tiguan Life, Elegance and R-Line.

Volkswagen expects Tiguan Life to be the top-seller in the UK, accounting for 50% of registrations.

Standard equipment offered by Tiguan Life includes 18-inch alloy wheels, rear-tinted glass, climate control, adaptive cruise control, front assist and front and rear parking sensors, as well as a driver alert system and dynamic road sign display.

The new Tiguan range starts at £26,915 on the road, with CO2 ranging from 143g/km to 177g/km.
