8 DS 7 2022

DS Automobiles has revealed the new DS 7, a facelift of the existing DS 7 Crossback.

The Crossback name has been ditched for the new version, along with the car’s non-hybrid petrol engines.

Fleet customers can choose from three plug-in hybrid options, along with a single diesel variant.

The 225PS front-wheel-drive E-Tense model and the all-wheel-drive 300PS E-Tense version are carried over from the old car. They are joined by a new 360PS range-topping model.

A new 14.2kWh battery is fitted, providing a WLTP zero-emission range of 40 miles. The larger unit should place the DS 7 in the 8% benefit-in-kind tax bracket. DS says the battery can be charged in around two hours.

The flagship DS 7 E-Tense 4x4 360 has been tuned by DS Performance to optimise its energy management. The chassis is lowered by 15mm and larger brakes are fitted. Acceleration from zero to 62mph is achieved in 5.6 seconds.

A new infotainment system is one of the biggest changes for the new DS 7, with the inclusion of DS’s IRIS system. The redesigned 12-inch high-resolution touch screen features a simplified menu and enhanced connected services. The new central display is joined by a revised digital instrument cluster.

Visually, the DS 7 gains new bumpers and revised lighting. The front headlights use pixel LED technology and complement the new daytime running lights, which are integrated into the bumper.

New interior upholstery options are also available, including the watch strap leather that’s found in the DS 9 saloon.

The new DS 7 will be available to order from August, with cars arriving in September.
