More than 1.6 million new cars were registered in 2022 and the Nissan Qashqai was the nation's favorite model, topping the sales chart for the first time.

To celebrate the achievement, Nissan produced an exclusive gold-wrapped Qashqai in honour of the 7,000 Nissan employees from around the UK that have contributed to its success.

The Qashqai outsold its nearest rival by more than 13,000 units and relegated last year's best-seller, the Vauxhall Corsa, to second place.
